Like to push the boundaries a bit further? Try After Crying. This Hungarian band is really something extraordinary. Well varied music with one foot in the chamber music area, stretching through many styles like jazz, classical to Zappa. Despite what you may think the music is quite easy to absorb overall. The music has a rich instrumentation (cello, trombone, basson, clarinet etc) and very good, atmospheric compositions. The vocals is in hungarian so it is definately a bit hard to get the lyrical message through, but hey, let the music speak for itself. "De Profundis" is clearly the best After Crying work up to date. Very dramatic and very beautiful.
