Perferic Records seems to chew out a lot of interesting releases, and this album by Mindflowers is their new one. If I was forced to give comparison, I'd say they do a sound somewhere between symphonic rock and the clear, imaginative fusion sound of Pat Metheny. But they can't be simply pidgeon holed as that, as they seem to have a wide range of influences, from Dream Theater, Rush and King Crimson, and even Gentle Giant and harder end of Fusion, and the amazing thing is, that they seem to pull elements of all these influences, and yet still retain their own sound. The 22minute suite "Talk With Myself" even includes some latin fusion like sound or Camel like melodic symphonic sound, and nothing short from breathtaking. A band that have enough chops, and ideas to use that chops. Exellent.
