In the first place and for those that don't still know you, who Iván Folk is?

- I'm a 43 year- old composer, musician, sound-engeener. Living near Budapest with my wife and four children. I'm the leader of a Christian congregation, called: Love-Fellowship.

In general terms as you would summarize your career?

- I've been being involved in music from my childhood. I played in classical orchestras as a violin player, in folk and rock bands as a guitarist. Graduated at the Hungarian Jazz Conservatory, I became a music teacher, teaching for 14 years. After working for different sound studios for years, became a professional studio man. I have my own studio, named: ZAFIR. Writting compositions from when I was 8.

How would you describe your music? Inside that am used the you would locate?

- It is a kind of fusion between styles. Free not to care for fashion or business too much. Coming from my soul and spirit it is not for the brain, more for the heart instead.

Until point the fact of experiencing with new forms and sounds is fundamental in your music?

- Yes, I'm very much interested in new forms and sounds, new instruments, etc. I'm always looking for the best instruments to tell my story, no matter if it is old or new.

What class of sensations is you interested to generate in your listeners?

- I'd like to play and sing the songs of hope and true love to the people in this agonizing world. Show pictures face to face, a mirror to look in, and depict fractures of eternity on the canvas of music.

Him yours is not in fact neither folk, neither jazz neither progressive. It would be said that it is an almost perfect combination of both styles. Why do you believe that people that come from cultures so different, of different musical styles, have a message common of expression?

- The world is becoming more and more international. Same restaurants, cloths, films, etc. Music is a common treasure of mankind, as I see, the distance is shorter and shorter between styles.

What current artists do you find interesting?

- Pat Matheny, Dream Theater, Patsy Moore, Phil Keaggy, Iona.

What are you making at the moment? Did you already begin to work in your next album?

- I've just returned from a mission tour in Ukrina's gypsy camps, next to the Hungarian border. A film was made by Csaba Högl about it, with my music. I'm planning to record a project inspired by the horrible situation of the camps, to show the pictures of distress from the very heart of Europe...

To finish. Of here in more, which are your plans in the immediate thing?

- We are working hard for the coming concert at February 26th, in Budapest Millenáris Park.
