The band Mondala was brought to life by an unusual idea; to combine Hungarian folk songs with traditional Spanish and South American genres. The songs are performed in Hungarian and partly in Spanish. In addition to Hungarian folk song arrangements, you can find elements of the flamenco, Argentine tango, and Brazilian bossa-nova genres. The name of the band was born from the combination of the word legend and song. The basic line-up includes folk singer Tünde Bokor and guitarist and composer Árpád Hadnagy. The concept allows, and sometimes even requires, the involvement of representatives of other musical cultures.

“Until one hears, one would not even think about how well Spanish and Hungarian folk music fit together - a third thing emerges from the pairing, which is no longer Spanish - Mediterranean - nor Hungarian, Central European. Despite the fact that Tünde Bokor's vocals naturally evoke and follow the traditional Hungarian folk singing style, the tension and sound of the guitar's Spanish, flamenco sound and sound do not make us feel that we hear Hungarian folk song adaptations and ballads. Rather, the music of the duo takes us into a third world. This world evokes Baroque (lute and vocal) and early Baroque and Renaissance music, but not in an archaic-retrospective way.
