The band PAYÉ formed in 2001, when Kormorán-keyboardist István Szűts (synthesizer, fiddle, citer, ütőgardon, doromb) and György Lőrincz (szaxofon synthesizer) decided to work together. Their aim is to make the music of Hungary and Eastern Europe known by people through the use of modern musical instruments, as they paint a modern background behind the well-known authentic folk-tunes. In 2002, the Budapest BM Duna Művészegyüttes requested Payé to compose music for a dance fantasy. The show was a great succes in the USA, in England and in Italy among many other countries.
