When I Go Home
(Mikor megyek hazafelé)
folk ethno

Enlarge this picture! Géza Fábri is a singer-musician born in Vojvodina, Zenta, and is one of the main figures of the southern dance house movement. Tambura, oud and koboz are his main instruments. He has been an authentic interpreter of Csángó Hungarian music for forty years now. Balázs Szokolay Dongó is one of the busiest middle-generation musicians in Hungarian folk and world music. It’s almost unlistable how many bands you’ve played, play as a founder, member, or guest musician.

On the album When I Go Home, Moldavian Csango music is heard in the duo's very mature, individual tone. Own folk music ¬– this term is most characteristic of his double music according to their own wording. Wisdom, serenity and fiery, scorching solos. Balladistic moods and ecstatic dance music. The tense moods give birth to a unified world of music, thanks to the creative interpretations of the two initiated musicians. The vocals of the koboz, bagpipes, soprano saxophone and countless flutes, Géza Fábri, sound with a temperature and intelligence that does not allow the listener's attention to wane for a moment.
